Current Status of All Electric Discount Credits
As of September 1, 2011, the PUCO All Electric Case Decision has been implemented. The All Electric Discount Credits that are now in effect include:
- EDR - (September 1 through May 31) and is 1.9 cents for all usage above 500 kwh for Illuminating Company, Ohio Edison, and Toledo Edison. This credit was NOT affected by the PUCO Decision and is NOT scheduled to go away.
- RDC - (September 1 through May 31) and is 1.7 cents for all usage above 500 kwh for Illuminating Company, Ohio Edison, and Toledo Edison. This credit was NOT affected by the PUCO Decision and is NOT scheduled to go away.
- RGC - (October 31 through March 31). The PUCO Decision shortened the timeframe during which this credit applies as well as determined this credit would be slowly phased out over the next 8 years. For the next 2 years (Winter 2011/2012 and 2012/2013), the RGC credit will be maintained at a number that will maintain a supposed "rate freeze." After the first 2 years and over the following 6 years, the RGC will gradually be phased out completely. The amount of RGC credit being offered during the next two years is less than the amount received in the past. This adjustment of RGC level was implemented because the overall retail rates dropped beginning June 1, 2011. The adjusted RGC levels that will be in effect for the next two years are:
- Illuminating Company = 3.46 cents on all kwh used
- Ohio Edison = 3.57 cents on all usage above 1,250 kwh
- Toledo Edison = 4.08 cents on the first 2,000 kwh, and 3.1 cents on
usage above 2,000 kwh
