About Citizens for Keeping the All-Electric Promise (CKAP)
Citizens for Keeping the All-Electric Promise (CKAP) is a grassroots group of citizens who are fighting FirstEnergy to keep the promises they made over 35 years ago to all-electric home, condo, and apartment owners.
Sue Steigerwald, a private citizen and all electric homeowner in Kirtland, founded CKAP in March 2010 in response to the public outcry that ensued during the winter of 2010, when FirstEnergy attempted to remove the all electric discount and customer bills skyrocketed.
CKAP's mission is to help all electric homeowners fight to keep the all electric discount so their homes remain affordable. CKAP has organized homeowners to form a collective voice and issue complaints via letters, phone calls, emails, a Columbus rally, and testimony in public hearings.

CKAP also won the right to be an official intervenor/party to the PUCO All Electric Case 10-176, and had a joint defense agreement with the Ohio Consumers Counsel.
Handling the legal aspect of the PUCO Case was CKAP legal advisor, Kevin Corcoran, of North Ridgeville. Kevin is an all-electric home owner and is the attorney for Bob Schmitt Homes, one of Ohio's largest builders of all-electric homes. Kevin also has his own private legal practice.
Sue and Kevin continue to fight to make all electric home ownership affordable. In September 2011, they announced a partnership they negotiated with
Duke Retail for discount electric generation rates for all electric home, condo, and apartment owners.
