These savings are IN ADDITION to the All Electric discount credits currently received from FirstEnergy. This is possible because the Duke Retail discount is on GENERATION, while the all electric credits you receive to make up the "All Electric" discount are all on the DISTRIBUTION side of your bill which remains with either the Illuminating Company, Ohio Edison, or Toledo Edison. This is why you can receive BOTH the Duke Retail generation discount AND keep all of your All Electric discount credits.

Sign Up for the Seasonal Flex Plan and start saving today just before winter heating bills arrive.  This offer is good for any all electric customer of the Illuminating Company, Ohio Edison, or Toledo Edison, even if you became all electric after the 2007 cutoff date.

Grab a recent copy of your First Energy bill and sign up in as little as five minutes:  Sign Up for the Seasonal Flex Plan online or call Duke Retail Toll Free at

Beware of FES' New Counter Offer!

If you were previously on NOPEC/FES, after you switch to Duke Retail you will become FES’ new favorite customer and will receive letters, emails, and calls offering their "NEW" FES counter offer. Don't be fooled by their low up front pricing of 5.75 cents winter and 6.30 cents the rest of the year as FES' contract clearly states that additional pass through costs can be added, they have a $100 termination fee, and they can automatically keep re-enrolling you in their program. Remember that prior to Duke Retail entering the market, your FES "Best Offer" was 4% off the Standard winter rate. For example, for CEI, this would be 4% off 6.73 cents or 6.46 cents!

If you fall for FES’ counter offer trick and help them push Duke Retail out of the market, then FES will then be able to raise their generation prices back to where they were at (4% off, or 6.46 cents winter rate). Just to be clear, Duke Retail is contractually committed for this initial two year period, so there is absolutely no risk in signing up with them. However, although Duke Retail’s intention is most definitely a long term relationship with all electric home owners in Ohio, we need to support their efforts by signing up for the Seasonal Flex Plan NOW!
